What the house rules should contain

The house rules should include essential information that guests need to know before booking. It is important to keep the rules short and easy to follow because it appears on the guest's quote. These guidelines are in place to ensure the comfort, safety, and enjoyment of all guests. The following points are important to mention:

    • Is smoking allowed, restricted to certain areas, or entirely prohibited?

  • Pet policy

    • Are pets allowed, and are there any size or breed restrictions, additional fees, etc.?

  • Hunting policy

    • It's important that guests are aware if hunting takes place on your property. Only use the wording “Hunting takes place on the premises” if this is the case.

  • Quiet hours

  • Any unique features or limitations of the property

    • If applicable, include the usage instructions for certain items, e.g. the hot tub, or mention pool safety rules, etc.

    • Mention the length and conditions of the road, and if a special vehicle is required to access the unit.

  • People who live on the premises

    • Mention if you or any other staff member resides on the premises.

  • Stairs

    • Mention if the property has stairs and what areas of the property are accessed via the stairs.
