What You Need to List Your Property: Namibia

2 min. readlast update: 02.16.2026

Getting your property in Namibia ready to go live is easy once you know which documents are required. As part of our activation process, we verify all properties before they can be listed. The documents you need will depend on your property’s ownership type.

Individual Ownership

To list a property you own personally, you’ll need:

  • A copy of your Identity Document (ID) or valid passport

  • Proof of the property’s address, which can include:

    • A recent municipal bill

    • Namibian Tourism Board (NTB) registration certificate for the property (if applicable)

Individual Owner with a Manager/Host

If someone else manages the property on your behalf, you’ll need:

  • A signed mandate granting permission for the manager to list and manage the property

  • Copies of both the owner’s and manager’s ID or valid passports

Company Ownership

For company-owned properties, you’ll need:

  • BIPA registration documents issued by the Business and Intellectual Property Authority

  • A Founding Statement if the company was registered using this method

  • ID or valid passport of at least one director or authorised representative

  • If the person listing the property is not a director, a mandate or written confirmation allowing them to list and manage the property

Communal or Traditional Land

If your property is on communal or traditional land, we need to verify that you have lawful authority to occupy, use, and rent out the property. One or more of the following official documents may be accepted:

  • Letter or confirmation from the Traditional Authority, village council chief, or recognised community leadership

  • Lease agreement or permission to occupy issued under communal land governance

  • Allocation or occupancy documentation recognised by the Communal Land Board

  • Any other official document confirming the right to occupy and operate the property

Important to Note

  • Additional documents may be requested depending on specific circumstances.

  • All documents must be clear, legible, and valid at the time of submission.

If you have any questions or are unsure which documents apply to your property, please feel free to get in touch. We look forward to assisting you and getting your property verified and live on LekkeSlaap.
